Oura vs PULS3: keep your ring, add the team

Your ring tells you how you slept, then leaves you to work out what that means for today's session and tonight's dinner. PULS3 connects to Oura directly and turns last night's sleep into one plan across training, food and stress.

PULS3 is an iPhone app where a head coach and nine specialists keep one plan for your day, and change it only when you say yes.

PULS3 movement program after a break: the next sessions are eased on purpose, with the headline Life happens. Your plan adjusts. PULS3 Today screen: the coach's main plan anchor, tonight's dinner, and the next steps in the day.

Why people look for an Oura alternative

We read 200 recent Oura App Store reviews on 24 September 2026. 76 gave one or two stars. Three complaints came up most.

Support that goes quiet

22 of the 76 low-star reviews describe slow or scripted support, some waiting weeks on warranty and returns. PULS3 does not depend on one device. If the ring is off your finger for a week, the plan keeps running from Apple Health and what you tell it.

Rings that fail

19 of the 76 describe a ring that stopped working or was hard to return, including one in August 2026 that failed just outside warranty. PULS3 has nothing to break or send back. It works with the ring you have today, and keeps working if you switch to a watch.

A membership on top of the ring

13 of the 76 object to paying every month after buying the ring, and DC Rainmaker's July 2026 review of Ring 5 questioned the same thing. PULS3 sells no hardware. After 31 October 2026 it costs A$9.99 a month, with every specialist, the training program and household meals included.

What you get with PULS3

Your ring data, turned into a plan

Each morning PULS3 builds a plan from last night's sleep and recent training, with the reason for each item. Not another score: what to do today, and why.

Training that bends with your sleep

PULS3 tracks load across lifting, running, riding and swimming, and eases the days before a hard session when load climbs too fast. Back after a break? It starts lighter on purpose. There's nothing to catch up.

Food and lab results, which a ring can't see

A week of dinners for everyone at your table, each checked against each person's allergies. Import a lab report as a PDF or photo, check the values, and your coach uses them.

Changes that wait for your yes

Every change to your plan is offered with its reason. Nothing moves until you say yes.

Using PULS3 with Oura

  1. Keep your ring. Add the team. Install PULS3 and tell it what you want, in your own words. "Stop waking up flat" is a fine answer.
  2. Connect Oura in Settings. PULS3 connects to Oura directly, or reads it through Apple Health. Oura keeps tracking your sleep.
  3. Wake up to a plan, not a score. Today's training, meals and recovery, with the reason for each. Say yes to the changes you want.
