A WHOOP alternative with no strap to buy
A$299 a year or more for a strap, and reviewers say cancelling is harder than it should be. PULS3 coaches your whole week from the Apple Watch, Garmin or Oura you already wear, for A$9.99 a month, and nothing renews unless you choose it.
PULS3 is an iPhone app with a head coach and nine specialists who keep one plan for your training, meals, sleep and stress, and change it when your week does.
Free until 31 October 2026. Nothing to pay until then, and nothing renews unless you choose to subscribe.

Why people look for a WHOOP alternative
Price
At least 25 of the roughly 170 reviews we read (Trustpilot, August and September 2026, plus the US App Store) mentioned cost, many inside 4 and 5 star reviews, and it was the top reason in 1-star reviews. One wrote "there is no way Whoop is worth the price" (Trustpilot, September 2026). PULS3 has no hardware to sell you. After 31 October 2026 it costs A$9.99 a month or A$89.99 a year, and reads the Apple Watch, Garmin or Oura you already own.
Cancelling and billing
At least 8 of those reviews described no cancel button, a 10 to 12 month minimum they did not recall agreeing to, or charges after cancelling. Cancellation and billing is the top category in PissedConsumer's summary of 98 complaints. PULS3 is free until 31 October 2026, and nothing renews unless you choose to subscribe. If you do, it is an App Store subscription you manage in your Apple account.
A coach that makes things up
Gear Patrol's July 2026 roundup of r/whoop feedback reported the coach inventing elevation on a hike, logging caffeine or alcohol users never had, and assuming an illness. PULS3 checks every reply against fixed rules and with a second AI before you see it. It says plainly when something needs a doctor, and when your numbers look fine. Dr Jason Paruthi, MD, co-designed the safety framework.
What you get with PULS3
A program that bends to your week
PULS3 tracks training load across lifting, running, riding and swimming. When load climbs too fast, it eases the days before the hard session. After a break it starts lighter on purpose, then builds. There's nothing to catch up.
Recovery that becomes a plan
WHOOP gives you a recovery score. PULS3 gives you the day. Each morning it builds today's plan from last night's sleep and recent training, and you hear one clear next step, with the reason attached.
More than strain and recovery
Nine specialists cover sleep, nutrition, exercise, stress, mood, lab results, women's health, menopause and men's health. Import a blood test as a PDF or photo. Get a week of dinners for everyone at your table, checked against each person's allergies.
Changes wait for your yes
Every change is offered with its reason. Nothing moves until you say yes.
Free until 31 October 2026. Nothing to pay until then, and nothing renews unless you choose to subscribe.

Switching from WHOOP
- Keep whatever writes to Apple Health. Apple Watch, Garmin and most wearables do, and an Oura ring connects directly in Settings. PULS3 has no WHOOP connection.
- Install PULS3 and say what you want, in your own words. "Get through the afternoon without crashing" is a fine answer.
- Get your first plan, with the reason for each item, and a new one every morning.
Questions
How much does PULS3 cost?
PULS3 is free until 31 October 2026. After that it costs A$9.99 a month or A$89.99 a year for one person, or A$19.99 a month for a family, in Australian or US dollars. Nothing renews unless you choose to subscribe.
Can I use WHOOP and PULS3 together?
Yes, but PULS3 has no direct WHOOP connection. PULS3 reads Apple Health, so it uses only the data that reaches Apple Health, plus whatever you tell the coach.
Does PULS3 need a wearable?
No. PULS3 works without one. If you have an Apple Watch, Garmin, Oura or another device that writes to Apple Health, it uses that data.
